Technical Breakdown
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) stores photos using HEVC compression. Many desktop apps and older browsers still expect JPEG, so a local decode-and-reencode step is useful when you share shots from an iPhone.
This tool decodes HEIC/HEIF with a client-side library (heic2any / libheif WASM), draws frames to a canvas, then exports JPEG with your chosen quality. No bytes leave the page.
Because decoding can be CPU-heavy, very large batches may take longer on low-power devices. Prefer converting albums in smaller groups if the tab feels busy. EXIF orientation is respected when the decoder provides it.
